Tinnitus Consultations

Canadian Hearing Services (CHS) offers consultations for individuals experiencing tinnitus. Tinnitus is often described as a ringing, buzzing or pulsating sound in the ear. According to research conducted by CHS and Statistics Canada, an estimated 37% of adult Canadians experience tinnitus each year. Although there is no cure for tinnitus, there are a number of therapeutic approaches that provide relief and help manage the condition. Our experienced audiologists can meet with you to consult on the possible causes of tinnitus, ways to address it, or recommend medical referrals or other specialized testing.

Solutions include tinnitus retraining therapy in conjunction with sound therapy – table-top or ear-level sound generators or hearing aids – which can help you adjust to tinnitus and improve sound tolerance.

For more information on tinnitus, read CHS’s research article in conjunction with Stats Canada.
