CHS recognizes Gord Kidd in the 2015 Hall of Heroes

HALIBURTON, ON (May 5, 2015) - On May 7, the Canadian Hearing Society (CHS) Peterborough Region will recognize a local businessman with the 2015 “Hall of Heroes” award.

“Every year, CHS’s Community Development Council, along with staff, put forth nominations for our regional Hall of Hero award. This year we have selected a Hall of Hero from Haliburton: Gord Kidd. This man is a devoted, passionate professional in Haliburton and he cares deeply about hearing healthcare,” said Maggie Doherty-Gilbert, Regional Director, CHS.

Kidd will be formally recognized and “inducted” into CHS Peterborough’s “Hall of Heroes” at an event on May 7 in Haliburton.

Since 1996, CHS Peterborough has presented 10 “Hall of Heroes” awards to members of the surrounding community for their contributions.

CHS promotes public awareness about hearing loss and barriers to communication, especially during Speech and Hearing Awareness Month in May. In 2015, CHS is celebrating 75 years proudly serving Deaf and hard of hearing communities. As a multi-service charitable organization, CHS provides a wide range of services to assist people who are Deaf or hard of hearing with their communication needs.
