On Sept 12, 2018 the Canadian Hearing Society (CHS) hosted a sold-out event at the picturesque Lebovic Golf Club for the 3rd Annual President’s Golf Tournament, raising a record $230,000. The tournament is CHS’s largest annual fundraising event with the goal of raising funds for the CHS National Scholarship Program.

At the tournament, CHS President and CEO Julia Dumanian announced the recipients of this year’s National Scholarship, which represents the largest number of awards and highest value awarded to students in CHS’s 78-year history.

“Every year the CHS team looks forward to this major event,” said Julia Dumanian, President and CEO of the Canadian Hearing Society. “At the President’s Scholarship Golf Tournament, we come together to raise money in support of students who are pursuing their academic dreams. We have set an ambitious goal to raise $1.5 million to ensure the National Scholarship Program remains sustainable for all Deaf and hard of hearing students and this $230,000 is a huge step toward that goal.”
