Located on East Street North near Exmouth in the Chris Dawson Centre, CHS Sarnia shares a home with thirteen other non-profit organizations in a managed space facility. The CHS Sarnia office offers a Hearing Aid program and Communication Devices program.

Communication Devices

We offer expert advice, sales, installation and training on a wide range of communication devices to enhance communication for culturally Deaf, oral deaf, deafened and hard of hearing people.

We’re here to help you find the best technical solutions, at the best price, to enhance communication in your home or at your business, organization or facility.

Educational Support Services

If you’re a culturally Deaf, oral deaf, deafened or hard of hearing part-time student registered at a publicly-funded Ontario college or university, you can apply for free classroom accommodations so you can participate in the classroom experience.

Educational Support Services are offered at most CHS locations.

Sign language interpreters

Ontario Interpreting Services at CHS provides American Sign Language (ASL)-English interpreting services across Ontario, and la langue des signes québécoise (LSQ)–French interpreting services primarily in the Ottawa and Sudbury regions, but arrangements can be made for other locations in the province.

For your convenience, all bookings are done through our centralized scheduling centre in Ottawa.

Friday 8 AM-5 PM

Hearing tests

We offer hearing tests for adults and children aged 3 years and over. If you have a hearing loss, our experienced audiologist will help find the best solution for you.

Monday, Tuesday, (every-other Wednesday), Thursday 9AM-5PM 

Hearing aid services

If you need a hearing aid for the first time or want to replace one you already have, our experienced audiologist will make sure you find the one that’s right for your hearing loss and your budget.

Community Outreach for Seniors

We provide support to seniors with hearing loss including:

  • hearing aid maintenance
  • communication devices assessments and training
  • presentations and displays about hearing loss

This program is available thanks to funding from United Way Sarnia Lambton.

CONNECT Counselling

We offer free professional counselling services to culturally Deaf, oral deaf, deafened and hard of hearing individuals of all ages, and their families, dealing with mental health issues, addiction, relationship problems, domestic violence or other serious challenges.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Services are provided from the London office.

Tinnitus and Hyperacusis Consultations

General Support Services

We offer guidance, advocacy, support and counselling to culturally Deaf, oral deaf, deafened and hard of hearing individuals who request assistance to manage everyday life events including completing government forms and developing strategies to cope with hearing loss.
