Please be advised that The City of Mississauga will be proceeding with roadworks in front of 2227 South Millway Drive between October 15th and November 10th . During this time, access to the main entrance will be blocked off and our parking lot will only be accessible from the bus terminal side and the Community Centre.
CHS Mississauga has been serving the communities of Peel Region including Mississauga, Oakville, Brampton, Milton, Halton Hills, Caledon and Dufferin County since 1985.
Our office is located on the third floor of the Southcom building behind the South Common Centre Mall at Burnhamthorpe Road West and Erin Mills Parkway. The office is easily accessible by public transit serving Mississauga and Oakville.
For newcomers to Canada who are Deaf and hard of hearing, we provide two free programs funded by the federal government: LINC teaches communication and life skills, and the Settlement Program for Newcomers to Canada offers guidance and support for everyday living.
Communication Devices
We offer expert advice, sales, installation and training on a wide range of communication devices to enhance communication for culturally Deaf, oral deaf, deafened and hard of hearing people.
We’re here to help you find the best technical solutions, at the best price, to enhance communication in your home or at your business, organization or facility.

Educational Support Services
If you’re a culturally Deaf, oral deaf, deafened or hard of hearing part-time student registered at a publicly-funded Ontario college or university, you can apply for free classroom accommodations so you can participate in the classroom experience.
Educational Support Services are offered at most CHS locations.

Sign Language Interpreters
Ontario Interpreting Services at CHS provides American Sign Language (ASL)-English interpreting services across Ontario, and la langue des signes québécoise (LSQ)–French interpreting services primarily in the Ottawa and Sudbury regions, but arrangements can be made for other locations in the province.
For your convenience, all bookings are done through our centralized scheduling centre in Ottawa.

Hearing Tests
We offer hearing tests for adults and children aged 3 years and over. If you have a hearing loss, an experienced audiologist will help find the best solution for you.

Hearing aid services
If you need a hearing aid for the first time or want to replace one you already have, our experienced audiologists will make sure you find the one that’s right for your hearing loss and your budget.

CONNECT Counselling
We offer free professional counselling services to culturally Deaf, oral deaf, deafened and hard of hearing individuals of all ages, and their families, dealing with mental health issues, addiction, relationship problems, domestic violence or other serious challenges.

General Support Services
We offer guidance, advocacy, support and counselling to culturally Deaf, oral deaf, deafened and hard of hearing individuals who request assistance to manage everyday life events including completing government forms and developing strategies to cope with hearing loss.

Wednesday 11 AM to 7 PM

Hearing Care Counselling
If you’re 55 or older and have a hearing loss, we offer free counselling services to help you improve communication with family and friends, stay involved in social activities, and remain safe and independent at home. Home visits can be arranged as required.
We also serve younger adults (aged 19 and over) with other challenges as well as hearing loss who require home-based services
Our counsellors can also educate care providers, service providers and support groups on how to provide accessible services for people with hearing loss.

Settlement Program for Newcomers to Canada
We offer free services and support to culturally Deaf, oral deaf, deafened and hard of hearing newcomers to Canada. We will assess your needs, goals and priorities; help you cope with everyday living and provide information on technical devices, housing transportation, health, employment, education, legal system and settlement issues; and translate forms from written English to ASL or vice versa.
Hours: Monday-Friday 9 AM-5 PM

Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC)
Our experienced instructors provide free language instruction to culturally Deaf, oral deaf, deafened, and hard of hearing adult newcomers to Canada to help you learn or improve your English language skills. LINC is a free program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada to teach you basic communication skills, how to read and write in English, and life skills to help you adapt to living in Canada.
Hours: Monday-Thursday 9 AM-4 PM

Sign language classes at CHS offer you an enjoyable and effective curriculum to learn American Sign Language (ASL) through classroom instruction, videotext and role-playing. Our qualified Deaf instructors use Signing Naturally, a sign language curriculum that teaches both ASL and Deaf culture to help you better understand the communication needs of the Deaf community.
Courses are offered in the Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer if minimum class size requirements are reached.
For Businesses, Agencies and Organizations
We can provide short-term ASL courses for businesses, agencies and organizations. To learn more about sign language classes for businesses, click here.
Video Conferencing Services
Bring people together at different sites across Ontario for one-on-one or group meetings, interviews and training sessions and save travel time and money with our state-of the-art video conferencing services.
