Today, the Honourable Raymond Cho, Minister for Seniors and Accessibility, visited the Canadian Hearing Society to tour the facility and to experience their accessibility products and services in action.

The Canadian Hearing Society is Canada’s leading, largest, and only accredited organization focused on advancing a barrier-free society for members of the Deaf and hard of hearing communities. With offices across Ontario – from Thunder Bay to Windsor – it delivers innovative technological solutions and programs that support the diverse and growing needs of Ontario’s Deaf and hard of hearing population.

“We are proud to deliver cutting edge solutions that are breaking communication barriers and changing people’s lives," said Julia Dumanian, President and CEO, Canadian Hearing Society.

Minister Cho met several members of the organization’s team. He participated in a live demonstration of the Canadian Hearing Society’s latest tools and observed clients actively engaged in programs being delivered.

“It was a pleasure to tour the Canadian Hearing Society’s office and to witness firsthand the variety of accessibility solutions that they offer to those who are Deaf and hard of hearing,” said Minister Cho. “Thank you to Julia and her staff at the Canadian Hearing Society for the work that you do to remove barriers and make our province – and country – more accessible for everyone.”

“Technology is the great enabler and great equalizer,” added Ms. Dumanian. “We look forward to working with the Ministry for Seniors and Accessibility and the Ontario Government to continue to build a barrier-free society for all Ontarians.”
