Peterborough, ON (June 18, 2012) -The Canadian Hearing Society (CHS) has partnered with Peterborough Fire Services to bring further attention to the importance of visual fire alarms and alerting devices for those who are Deaf or have a hearing loss.

"This is a great opportunity for us to showcase all the different alarms and alerting devices CHS has available. We need to ensure everyone has access when it comes to fire safety," said Maggie Doherty-Gilbert, CHS Peterborough and York Regional Director.

"Partnering with Peterborough Fire Services at this Fire Safety Expo allows attendees to ask questions and to see firsthand how the devices work."

"Peterborough Fire Services looks forward to the opportunity to continue its work with The Canadian Hearing Society and are thrilled this event will allow us, once again, to be there for the Community," says Maureen Crowley, Community Educator, of the Peterborough Fire Services.
