Toronto, ON: The Canadian Hearing Society (CHS) is thrilled to announce that Gary Malkowski, CHS Special Advisor to the President, Public Affairs, had the honorary degree L.H.D. Doctor of Humane Letters degree bestowed upon him from Gallaudet University.

Southlake introduces dedicated TTY telephone number for patients and community members

(Newmarket, Ontario) – November 22, 2010 — As part of Southlake Regional Health Centre’s ongoing commitment to comply with and exceed the Customer Service Standards under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act 2005, the Hospital is pleased to announce the availability of a teletypewriter (TTY) line for patients and visitors that are Deaf, oral deaf, deafened and hard of hearing. The new TTY line is available at 905-952-3062.

CHS Chief Audiologist elected President of the Canadian Academy of Audiology

Toronto, ON (Oct 4, 2010) -  The Canadian Hearing Society (CHS) is pleased to announce that Rex Banks, CHS Chief Audiologist, has been elected President of the Canadian Academy of Audiology (CAA). Rex has been a board member with CAA for two years, has been with CHS for nine years, and currently leads a team of 17 audiologists at CHS.
