Founded in 1940, CHS is a not-for-profit agency and the leading provider of services, products, and information that remove barriers to communication, advance hearing health, and promote equity for people who are culturally Deaf, oral deaf, deafened and hard of hearing. CHS is governed by a board of directors, the majority of whom are deaf, deafened, or hard of hearing. Our Accessibility Services have always included sign language interpreting services, both onsite and remote services. We will begin to offer onsite and remote CART services in 2011.

The purpose of this RFP is to procure Vendors of Record who will provide Communication Access Realtime Translation (CART) services remotely throughout Canada and onsite in major centers in Canada. To accomplish this goal, CHS is soliciting offers via competitive sealed proposals from qualified organizations and individuals to provide onsite and remote CART services.

The successful Vendor(s) shall be utilized on an as-needed basis for a contract period of three (3) years starting approximately in July, 2011 with the option to renew for two (2), one-year (1-year) periods annually.
