Position: Commercial Sales Coordinator
Location: Communication Devices Program, Toronto
Start Date: Immediately
Minimum Start Salary: $27,170 per annum ($45,284 per annum pro-rated to 60%)
Position Status: 1-Year Contract
Part-time; 21 hours per week

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible to meet established sales targets through all aspects of commercial and corporate sales from marketing to customer satisfaction.  Identify appropriate market segments within the corporate and government sector and initiate, facilitate sales of communication devices to these business sectors.  Develop new accounts and maintain positive relationships with existing accounts.  Work with identified school boards, provide on-going training and support, and ensure that the assistive listening systems are in good working order.  Assist in the development and implementation of marketing programs for the corporate sales market.  Promote public awareness of accessibility issues as they relate to culturally Deaf, oral deaf, deafened and hard of hearing communities. 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Direct Service:

•    Achieve set sales quotas as established by manager
•    Develop new customers and maintain good relationships with existing customers 
•    Develop and implement marketing strategies in consultation with manager
•    Identify, Initiate and facilitate sales of communication devices to the corporate and government sectors
•    Initiate and complete on site assessment of equipment requirements for potential large scale applications and facilitate installation if necessary
•    Work with school boards to assess, sell and troubleshoot equipment e.g. FM system, etc.
•    Prepare sales quotations and  proposals for corporate customers; including follow-up
•    Prepare and present power point presentations to corporate customers 
•    Provide follow up  training on equipment sold to customers
•    Provide information and act as a resource for access and equity issues
•    Coordinate CDP presence at trade shows and other venues to promote CDP and increase sales activity
•    Work with distributors to prepare marketing materials and information packages
•    Evaluate new devices for sale
•    Other duties as assigned

Administration & Financial:

•    Complete and submit weekly sales reports
•    Coordinate with local suppliers re new products and opportunities for CDP
•    Coordinate with local suppliers re requirements for large area devices, etc.
•    Develop, monitor and maintain prospect lists
•    Prepare sales quotations and proposals for customers
•    Provide follow up correspondence related to potential and confirmed sales visits
•    Keep up to date files and records as required
•    Keep corporate files and prices up to date and distribute as appropriate
•    Coordinate appropriate billing for fee for service assignments
•    Other duties as assigned

Community Education:

•    Participate in community events, tradeshows and special projects e.g. May Month, United Way campaigns, etc.
•    Participate in and provide information through workshops about accessibility and accommodation with communication devices to a variety of interest groups
•    Advocate and promote accessibility through hearing, culturally Deaf, oral deaf, deafened and hard of hearing communities
•    Represent CHS on external committees as required
•    Assist manager and staff in preparation of other projects as required

Professional Development:

•    Attend internal staff meetings
•    Attend workshop/seminars related to developments in technology and marketing opportunities
•    Keep up to date on issues, legislative changes and information which impacts CHS and the objectives of the CDP
•    Keep up to date on funding opportunities as it relates to the CDP program
•    Acquire and maintain the ASL Proficiency requirement for the position (Intermediate Level)

LINE OF RESPONSIBILITY:

Manager CDP

QUALIFICATIONS:

•    College diploma in Sales/Marketing
•    2 – 3 years experience in corporate sales
•    Motivated self starter, requiring minimal supervision
•    Proven sales record meeting and exceeding sales objectives and developing new accounts
•    Strong presentation skills
•    Familiar and comfortable working with communication technology
•    Demonstrated excellent customer service and communication skills
•    Proficiency in MS Office Suite and Internet
•    Knowledge about culturally Deaf, oral deaf, deafened and hard of hearing communities
•    Proficiency in ASL or a willingness to learn
•    Demonstrated adaptability and flexibility
•    Demonstrated sensitivity to working in a culturally diverse environment
•    Some evening and weekend work required
•    Regular travel within the GTA; and some travel outside of the GTA e.g. training, tradeshows, etc.
