About CHS Brantford

Aucune traduction disponible

The City of Brantford itself is rich with history.  It was originally named “Brant’s Ford” because it lay at a point along the Grand River where the Mohawk Chief Joseph Brant was known to cross.  It has also been the proud home of many famous people, including the scientist James Hillier, comedian Phil Hardman and hockey great Wayne Gretzky.

In 1987, less that two years after a Brantford United Way study indentified the need for services and programs for people who are deaf or have a hearing loss, CHS Brantford was born.

Staff, committee members, and volunteers enthusiastically take on projects and initiatives in the Brantford community to promote new and innovative ways of addressing issues that affect those with hearing loss. The office has also seen volunteers and staff raise much needed funds through Bingo games, walkathons, baseball tournaments, barbeques and charity breakfasts.
