The Canadian Hearing Society has joined forces with Think Recycle in a new fundraising opportunity. This program will benefit the environment as well as generate funds for CHS’s specialized programs and services. It’s EASY, it’s FREE, and for every acceptable recycled item, CHS will receive cash!
Help CHS and the environment by recycling your unwanted electronics: cell phones, laptops, tablets, digital cameras, iPods, mp3 players and print cartridges.
Bring your unwanted electronics to your local CHS office and we will do the rest.
Protect them in newspaper or plastic and send or bring to:
The Canadian Hearing Society
Attn: Fundraising, 5th floor
271 Spadina Rd.
Please be courteous and only bring the acceptable products.
Electronic waste is becoming a growing problem worldwide. Over 4.6 million tons of electronic waste is dumped in our local and international landfills every year, contributing to environmental and health concerns. As technology has evolved, we have grown and expanded our programs to include cell phones, digital cameras, iPods and MP3 players. By doing our part to keep these electronics out of landfills, we are creating a healthier and cleaner environment for future generations. When entering landfills, electronics can take up to 1,000 years to decompose and can contribute to the contamination and pollution of air, water and soil.
By collecting and recycling with Think Recycle, unwanted electronics will be refurbished, recycled or reused, creating a positive environmental impact. You will also be cleaning the air we breathe by planting trees. Through Think Recycle’s partnerships with American Forests and Tree Canada, they donate funds to have one tree planted for every 24 qualifying products Think Recycle collects. To date, ThinkRecycle has contributed to the planting of over 50,000 trees!
