CHS Employment Services for Deaf or Hard of Hearing People

Looking for a job?  Are you deaf, deafened or hard of hearing?  We offer an employment services program just for you.

Our Employment Services program offers many services and resources to help you find work.  We are the largest service of this kind in Ontario, and as a deaf or hard of hearing job seeker you can benefit from our years of experience and many strategic partnerships with employers across the province.

We offer:

  • Job-related counselling
  • Job leads and referrals
  • Interviews
  • Interpreters for your interviews
  • Job accommodations and supports (TTYs and other communication devices)

Help With Job Searching

Many deaf or hard of hearing job seekers encounter unique challenges when looking for work.  We can show you how to face those challenges.  We'll also show you how to effectively research careers, find job leads, improve your resume, and much more.

Employment Supports

Do you need a TTY or special arrangements in order to do your job?  We can help you and your employer find the accommodations, assistive technology or communication devices you need.  We can also help your co-workers communicate better with you.

Employment Resources

Being deaf or hard of hearing it is sometimes hard to find employment resources or help.  We have many resources you can use.  We have books, computers and TTYs.  If you need assistance understanding an email or letter, we can help with that too.

Trying To Save Your Job?

Are you trying to save your job?  Having problems with your boss?  Having trouble communicating with your employer or co-workers?  We can help you solve some of these problems, sometimes by giving you advice, sometimes by talking with both you and your boss.
