Incorporation

The Canadian Hearing Society was incorporated in 1940 to impartially serve and support deaf, deafened and hard of hearing people, parents of deaf and hard of hearing children and to educate the hearing public.

Board of Directors

The Canadian Hearing Society is governed by a board of directors, the majority of whom are culturally Deaf, oral deaf, deafened, or hard of hearing.  By law these directors are accountable for the oversight of the agency.  The current 2012/2013 Board of Directors are:

We are currently welcoming nominations for the Board of Directors.

Members of CHS are invited to submit nominations for the Society’s Board of Directors.  There are several seats to be filled.  The term of office is three years with the expectation that members will serve their full term.  Interviews with candidates are tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, May 21, 2013.  The election on the slate will be held at the Society’s Annual General Meeting in Toronto on Saturday, June 22, 2013.
